Planning in the Moment
Planning in the Moment is a child led approach where staff use their knowledge of the child and help them to build on their existing skills. This is done through carefully thought out interactions, in the moment. This could be through challenging their thinking, providing resources, suggesting ideas, or modelling. A key part of this approach is also for the adults to know when to step back and simply observe learning taking place without the need for adult interaction or interference.
Our group time happens each session and complements Planning in the Moment. This include stories, critical thinking and meaningful discussions.
Sessions may include a new skill/concept introduced by the adults or children, where appropriate. Children may then choose to explore and build on this further in their own child initiated projects.
