“Children learn as they play. Most importantly in play children learn how to learn” - Fred Donaldson

Learning thrives in a safe and secure environment, where there is opportunity for play and work, and places to rest. A place where we want to be, have a sense of belonging and where we can all get along together in a close-knit community.

Where we feel most at home at Nurture Outdoor Kindergarten is outside. A great deal of learning happens outside. Often our fondest memories tend to be of childhoods spent outdoors. Whilst having a place to warm ourselves by the fire, in a cosy heated space to rest is important, time in our garden is equally well spent.

We work with an authentic learning style, where we believe that experience is where the greatest learning is found. This can be translated into long term projects, such as planting a food garden, or shorter term projects that children put together independently, talking through their thoughts with their adults and peers.
