Nurture Outdoor Kindergarten is a progressive outdoor kindergarten where children’s inherent desire to learn about themselves and their world is nurtured.

This handbook contains information about our flexi-school programme. Our sessions are overseen by a qualified teacher and Forest School Leader. A dedicated outdoor practitioner runs the sessions.

During sessions, children choose from a range of activities, as well as self-directed opportunities for exploring their own interests. They take opportunities to develop skills in using tools through woodwork and bushcraft. A fire acts as the warming hub at the centre of our space, where children can develop bushfire cooking and fire lighting skills. At the heart of each session is the aim to bring opportunities for connection and building trusting and respectful relationships within our community.

Community:

Each person who attends the session is important, from the practitioner and teacher facilitating the session, to each child interested in exploring their own interests as well as exploring opportunities to develop skills in important areas.

Sessions are:

  • For: 4-8 year olds

  • Time: 9:00 am to 3.00pm

  • When: Thursdays and Fridays (term time only)
